DESCRIPTION:In this beginner workshop, participants will be introduced to the practice of kintsugi through a simplified and modernized version using ceramic glue and an alternative Urushi (traditional sap from lacquer tree) to mend and fasten pieces together. The instructor will provide a brief history of the technique and discuss the psychological and meditative aspects of Kintsugi.\n\nKintsugi is a centuries-old practice used to mend treasured objects with silver or gold. The use of valuable materials highlights rather than hides the cracks or "flaws" of the once-broken object.
