When the “Shelter in Place” order was placed by Governor Pritzker, I sought refuge in my art. What emerged were layered images with dark hues and tones. In these difficult times, my feelings of anxiousness and uncertainty were appearing in my art. As the days of isolation progressed, my work became even darker and more intense. Shapes of tangled string, wire mesh and raindrops were themes I gravitated toward. However, a bright circle always appears — a symbol of hope!
