Philip Hartigan

Philip Hartigan trained with Master Printer Thomas Gosebrunch, a master printer who worked in Picasso’s printmaking studio.  Hartigan’s honors include more than twenty solo and group exhibitions; his work has been acquired by the Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection at the Art Institute of Chicago; he represented the USA at the 2014 Global Print Biennial; and he has been involved with public art projects in Urbana, IL.  He is looking forward to working with students and helping them explore the medium.
From Philip “Two final thoughts: I love printmaking for the range of lines, tones, and marks you can make that are only possible through this medium and no other, and I consider it a life mission to spread the word about that; and finally, I once had a two-person exhibition with HRH Prince Charles inside a UK prison.”
