Creating a relief print by carving woodblock is a direct and rewarding process akin to sculpture. For this collaborative class, all levels are welcome! New students will be introduced to the fundamentals of carving, inking techniques, and block registration to create beautiful woodblock prints. Through individually guided projects, students may explore various processes including reduction printing, textural embossing, bokashi color rolls, and multiple block planning and registration. Concepts of monoprints, monotypes, and variable editions will be introduced.
